An Exciting Event on Cyber Security & Data Science

ALOR SETAR, 3 February 2025 – The School of Computing and Informatics (SCI) Students’ Committee, in collaboration with TechNexus, successfully hosted an electrifying two-day Cyber Security & Data Science Pre-Specialization Workshop on 29 – 30 January 2025 at the Auditorium, Albukhary International University (AIU).

Designed to help first- and second-year students dive into their specialization options, the workshop delivered hands-on learning, expert insights, and real-world applications straight from industry professionals.

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭: 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆

Led by Mudassiru Nasiru, an AIU alumnus and cyber security specialist, this session took students deep into digital security, ethical hacking, and real-world cyber threats. Now pursuing his Master’s at AIU, Mudassiru demonstrated practical cybersecurity applications, shedding light on the explosive demand for cybersecurity professionals in today’s digital world.

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮: 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱

The second session featured Md Serajun Nabi, an AIU alumnus specializing in Data Science, currently pursuing his Master of Engineering Science at Multimedia University while working as a Graduate Research Assistant in AI for Digital Pathology (Cancer Diagnosis). With previous experience as an Associate Data Scientist at KOLLECT SYSTEM SDN BHD, he provided students with a hands-on introduction to data science, AI, and machine learning, showcasing the power of data-driven decision-making across industries.

As a newly formed 3ZERO Club under SCI, TechNexus is on a mission to bridge the gap between academia and industry, fostering innovation, collaboration, and cutting-edge technical skills. This workshop marked its first major initiative, setting the stage for more groundbreaking events, industry partnerships, and hands-on learning experiences in the future.

With an overwhelming response and an eager community of tech enthusiasts, this workshop proved to be just the beginning of something bigger, bolder, and more impactful at AIU.
