ALOR SETAR, 14 August 2025 – The Centre for Foundation and General Studies (CFGS) at Albukhary International University (AIU) has taken another step towards building academic excellence by organising hands-on APA Style 7th Edition Referencing Workshops for Foundation in Arts and Foundation in Computing students.
Held on 12 and 13 August 2025 at the Library Seminar Room, the workshops were led by Librarians Madam Nurul Izzati Sabri and Ms. Rabiatul Adawiyah Zulkifli.
🎯 Practical Skills for Academic Integrity
The sessions provided students with essential skills to:
- Correctly apply APA citations in academic writing
- Compile precise and properly formatted reference lists
- Avoid plagiarism through accurate source acknowledgment
Using real-world examples of common referencing challenges, the workshops offered interactive, application-focused learning rather than theory alone.
📝 Building Confidence for Undergraduate Study
The training was integrated into FAH125 Academic Writing Skills and FAH135 Writing and Research Skills courses, equipping students with the tools they need to produce credible, high-quality work and meet the academic rigour of university-level studies.
By the end of the sessions, participants left with greater confidence in their ability to uphold academic integrity and write to professional standards.
