lbukhary International University (AIU) Myanmar Students’ Association (AMSA) proudly hosted Project HOPE 2025: A Celebration of Little Stars, marking the successful completion of its year-long community learning initiative with Madrasah Tahfiz Md Noor.
The event honoured the achievements of 115 Rohingya refugee students and the dedication of AIU Myanmar student volunteers, who have devoted their weekends to teaching and mentoring the children throughout the year.

Empowering Through Education and Compassion
The day began with a formal ceremony at the AIU Auditorium, followed by a campus tour and fun-filled activities at the Male Multi-Purpose Hall, all reflecting a spirit of joy, pride, and gratitude.
Professor Dr. Abdul Malek Bin Abdul Karim, Dean of the School of Education and Human Sciences (SEHS), delivered a speech on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, praising AMSA volunteers for their unwavering commitment to community education.
Also present was Mr. Abu Bakar Bin Ngah, Director of the Centre for Community and Industry Engagement (CCIE), reaffirming AIU’s strong support for student-led social impact initiatives.

Inspiring Words and Heartfelt Moments
The event featured inspiring messages by Dr. Muath Khalil Amayreh and Madam Farah Miranda Valery Ellis Crooke from the School of Business and Social Sciences (SBSS), alongside Mr. Ali, a representative from Madrasah Tahfiz Md Noor, who expressed gratitude for AMSA’s year-long contribution.
A highlight of the ceremony was the Prize Giving Session, where outstanding students were recognised for their achievements. The celebration concluded with a lively campus tour and engaging activities, leaving lasting smiles on the faces of all participants.

Transforming Lives Through Project HOPE
Now in its second year, Project HOPE stands as a flagship AMSA initiative that offers English, Mathematics, Science, and Computing lessons to Rohingya refugee children. The programme is supported by over 50 Myanmar student volunteers in collaboration with the Open Feed NGO.
The initiative embodies AIU’s 8-Hour Rule and 5A Core Values, fostering compassion, leadership, and social responsibility among AIU students — while empowering marginalised communities through the transformative power of education.
