Albukhary International University (AIU) proudly celebrates the success of the Digital Literacy & Typing Fun Workshop, a meaningful community-driven initiative organised by the SoftNex 3ZERO Club, founded by passionate students from the School of Computing and Informatics (SCI), in collaboration with the vibrant TrashFormers Club. The event took place on 1 November 2025, bringing together creativity, technology, and youth empowerment under one roof.

🌟 A Fun, Engaging, and Safe Introduction to the Digital World

The workshop welcomed enthusiastic children aged 7 to 10 years old, giving them early exposure to essential digital skills that shape responsible online behavior. Through fun-filled activities and interactive learning sessions, the young participants explored:

  • Online safety basics
  • How to recognise safe vs. unsafe online interactions
  • Digital ethics and respectful behavior on the internet
  • The importance of cybersecurity awareness at a young age

The SoftNex 3ZERO team designed the entire program to ensure maximum engagement, combining essential lessons with games, storytelling, and real-life examples that young learners could easily understand.

⌨️ Typing Speed Challenge: Boosting Skills With Fun & Competition

One of the workshop’s highlights was the Typing Speed Challenge, where participants excitedly competed to improve their typing accuracy and speed. This fun activity not only encouraged healthy competition but also taught the children the importance of:

  • Finger placement
  • Proper typing posture
  • Accuracy over speed
  • Confidence when using digital devices

The room echoed with laughter and excitement as the young learners tried to beat their previous scores, creating an unforgettable learning experience.

🤝 Teamwork, Confidence, and Creative Expression

Beyond technical skills, the workshop emphasised teamwork, communication, and creativity—values that reflect AIU’s holistic learning philosophy. Group discussions and hands-on sessions allowed children to:

  • Work together to solve problems
  • Express ideas confidently
  • Learn from peers
  • Build digital awareness through teamwork

The SoftNex and TrashFormers teams played an essential role in guiding the participants with patience, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of responsibility.
