Albukhary International University (AIU) once again proved its dedication to shaping the next generation of compassionate and visionary leaders through the Inspirational Leadership Talk held at Puteri Palmera Glass Hall, Alor Setar, on 25 October 2025.
The session, organized in conjunction with the Leadership Course for Bestari-Level Peer Counsellors, featured AIU’s Vice Chancellor and President, Prof. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Mohd Saleh bin Jaafar, as the Guest of Honour. His inspiring words touched the hearts of young participants, reminding them that true leadership begins with sincerity, humility, and service.

In a heartfelt sharing, Prof. Saleh reflected on his humble beginnings in Kampung Kandang, Melaka, where he was the 13th of 19 siblings. Despite growing up with limited means, he learned the value of hard work, patience, and gratitude.
“Success does not come from wealth or privilege,” he said. “It comes from sincerity of purpose, discipline, and the will to serve others.”
He urged students to go beyond academic achievement and embrace the deeper purpose of education — to become individuals who bring positive change to their communities. “Study not merely to obtain a degree, but to become a person of value, one who brings benefit to others,” he reminded.

The event brought together over 144 students and 30 teachers from 72 boarding schools across Malaysia, creating a vibrant platform for young minds to connect, learn, and grow.
For two days, participants engaged in interactive workshops, team-building activities, and motivational sessions designed to nurture leadership, empathy, and emotional intelligence.
During their stay, they also had the opportunity to explore the AIU campus, discovering the university’s state-of-the-art facilities, diverse academic programmes, and its unique mission as a waqf-based institution committed to building socially responsible global citizens.

AIU’s Vice Chancellor emphasized that leadership is not about power or status, but about influence and integrity. He encouraged students to lead by example, guided by empathy, fairness, and respect.
“Leadership is a trust. You must carry it with honesty and humility,” he shared. His message resonated deeply with the young audience, inspiring many to reflect on their own journey and purpose.
