Albukhary International University (AIU) successfully wrapped up MINI Week of Welcome (WOW) 1.0, a vibrant two-day orientation programme held on 27 and 28 October 2025, dedicated to welcoming the October 2025 Batch 1 intake.
The event served as the first chapter in the new students’ AIU journey — blending learning, laughter, and leadership into an unforgettable introduction to university life.
🎓 A Warm AIU Welcome
The programme kicked off with the Official Welcome and University Introduction by Professor Dato’ Ir. Dr. Mohd Saleh Bin Jaafar, Vice Chancellor and President of AIU. His inspiring speech encouraged students to embrace AIU’s core values and make the most of every opportunity to grow academically, socially, and spiritually.
A university showcase video followed, giving newcomers a glimpse of AIU’s beautiful campus, diverse culture, and global community spirit that defines life at Albukhary International University.
🤝 Interactive Sessions and Essential Briefings
Day 1 continued with a series of engaging sessions designed to help students connect, adapt, and settle in smoothly. Highlights included the Meet & Greet with the Student Representative Council (SRC) and AIU Resident Council (ARC), fun Icebreaking activities, and a range of informative departmental briefings on essential topics such as:
- Scholarships and Financial Support
- Student Welfare Services
- EMGS/VISA and Health Insurance
- Academic and Examination Matters
- Campus Facilities and Resources
These sessions ensured that every new student left with valuable insights and confidence to navigate their academic journey ahead.
💡 Wellness, Teamwork, and Adventure
Day 2 began with an impactful session on Mental Health and Student Support, led by Madam Fazlia Binti Azhari, emphasizing self-care, emotional balance, and reaching out for help when needed.
The energy then shifted to full excitement mode with the Amazing Race, organised by PEERS, where students teamed up to complete creative challenges across the campus — strengthening friendships and teamwork in the most fun and dynamic way.
The programme concluded with a Closing Ceremony, officiated by Madam Nurul Huda Hasan Bakri, Deputy Director of the Centre for Student Affairs and Alumni (CSAA), who congratulated the new students on completing their first AIU experience with enthusiasm and positivity.
