AIU and Yayasan Alkhair Form Collaboration to Recruit Students from Syria

Albukhary International University (AIU) recently welcomed a delegation from Yayasan Alkhair to explore a strategic collaboration aimed at recruiting and supporting students from Syria for the October 2026 Academic Intake.

The delegation, led by Mr. Mohd Luqmanulhakim bin Mohd Redzuan, Chairman of Yayasan Alkhair, included Dr. Mohd Saeed Zakaria, Chief Financial Officer, and Mr. Azfar bin Abdullah, Chief Operations Officer. They were warmly received by Prof. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Mohd Saleh bin Jaafar, Vice Chancellor and President of AIU.


🎯 Fostering Educational Access and Empowerment

Discussions during the meeting centered on establishing recruitment and sponsorship mechanisms to expand access to higher education for Syrian students affected by conflict and displacement. Both parties expressed their shared vision of empowering youth through education, in alignment with AIU’s mission to provide opportunities for underprivileged and deserving students from across the world.


🌍 Commitment to Sustainable Collaboration

The dialogue concluded with both institutions reaffirming their commitment to sustainable partnership, emphasizing the importance of long-term initiatives that promote student inclusion, academic excellence, and global humanitarian development.

Also present were Mr. Abdul Shakur bin Abdullah, Deputy Registrar and Director of the Centre for Corporate Planning and Communication (CPC), and Mr. Abu Bakar bin Ngah, Director of the Centre for Community and Industry Engagement (CCIE), reflecting AIU’s institutional commitment to collaboration that bridges education with community development.
