AIU BMC Welcomes New Students with a Collaborative Townhall and Engaging Orientation Programme

Albukhary International University (AIU) warmly welcomed the newest cohort of Bachelor of Media and Communication (BMC) students during the BMC Townhall and Orientation Programme, held on 11 November 2025 at the vibrant BMC Studio. The event marked the beginning of an exciting academic journey for the 2025/2026 intake, offering students a comprehensive introduction to the programme and an opportunity to connect with peers, lecturers, and the broader BMC community.


A Warm Welcome to the New BMC Family

The orientation began with registration and casual interactions, followed by a heartfelt welcome led by final-year students and event coordinators Evelyn Usaiwevhu and Tengku Ruzana Zakirah Tengku Zainul Akmal. Their message set a positive tone, assuring newcomers that they were joining a supportive, creative, and collaborative academic environment.


Programme Insights Delivered by Academic Leaders

A key highlight of the event was an in-depth academic briefing by the Head of Programme, Mohamad Nor Hisyam Bin Musa. He introduced students to:

An open forum session followed, featuring direct engagement with BMC academic staff, including:

In the afternoon, Associate Professor Dr. Suraya Hanim Binti Mokhtar delivered an insightful session titled “3ZERO and Social Business.” The session introduced students to:

  • The purpose and goals of the BMC 3ZERO Club
  • Digital literacy and competency-building

Peer Learning: Insights from a Graduating Student

The orientation also featured an inspiring Peer Learning & Experience Session led by graduating student Tegar Dhanu Kusuma. He shared:

  • Tips for adapting to university life
  • Guidance on maintaining balance and preparing for internships

New students appreciated the relatable and practical advice, which provided a realistic preview of what to expect in the coming years.
