Tech-Driven Research Experience Prepares SCI Students for Career Success

The symposium commenced with a warm welcome by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Basheer Riskhan, Dean of SCI, followed by an inspiring keynote address from Prof. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Mohd Saleh bin Jaafar, Vice Chancellor of AIU.

Both leaders praised Prof. Dr. Khalid Hussain for his outstanding coordination of the Directed Studies course, emphasising its role in nurturing students’ research skills through guided inquiry, critical thinking, and hands-on analysis.


Diverse Research Topics Across Six Venues

The event featured nearly 70 research presentations across six campus venues, including the Auditorium and lecture theatres. Topics ranged from:

  • Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
  • Cybersecurity
  • Data Governance
  • Emerging Digital Frameworks

Each session was moderated by SCI faculty and supported by dedicated student volunteers, creating a professional and collaborative academic environment.


Expert Evaluation and Constructive Feedback

Presentations were evaluated using a standardised rubric by both internal academics and invited external experts, including:

  • Prof. Dr. Yusnidah binti Ibrahim
  • Dr. Muath Khalil Amayreh
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kalthom binti Husain

External reviewers ensured a rigorous assessment process and provided valuable, methodologically focused feedback to the participants.


Celebrating Student Achievement

The closing ceremony featured final reflections from the Dean of SCI, followed by the presentation of tokens of appreciation to external evaluators by Prof. Dr. Hj. Mohamad Abdullah bin Hemdi, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic).

Awards were also presented to outstanding student researchers, recognising excellence in innovation and scholarly contribution. The day concluded with a commemorative group photo, capturing the spirit of collaboration and achievement.

The symposium served as a capstone experience for students, giving them the opportunity to:
