Albukhary International University (AIU), has been making a remarkable impact with its mission to combat Zero Unemployment through skill-based learning. Since its launch in early 2025, the club has been committed to bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world industry skills through hands-on workshops, intensive bootcamps, and peer-learning initiatives.
Guided by Associate Professor Dr. Basheer Riskhan, TechNexus ensures that its activities are not only practical but also aligned with AIU’s educational vision and global industry standards.
🌟 A Student-Led Movement with a Big Vision
Formed by five Year-2 Computer Science students, TechNexus was built on the belief that academic excellence alone is not enough—students need practical, job-ready skills to thrive in the ever-evolving tech landscape. The club emphasizes coding, teamwork, and mastery of industry tools, creating an inclusive learning hub where students can grow beyond the classroom.
This approach has made TechNexus a go-to community for students eager to enhance their employability and future-proof their careers.

🚀 Kickstarting with Cybersecurity & Data Science
TechNexus officially kicked off its activities in January 2025, in collaboration with the SCI Committee, through a two-day Cybersecurity & Data Science Pre-Specialization Workshop.
- Day 1: Mudassiru Nasiru (AIU alumnus and MSc Cybersecurity candidate) introduced students to the fast-growing field of cybersecurity, blending theory with hands-on exploration.
- Day 2: Md Serajun Nabi (AIU alumnus and Graduate Research Assistant in AI, Multimedia University) delivered an inspiring session on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, offering students an exciting preview of future career paths.
The workshop was a resounding success, drawing enthusiastic participation and helping first- and second-year students make informed decisions about their specialization tracks.
💻 MERN Stack Bootcamp: Learning by Building
In February 2025, TechNexus raised the bar by launching its flagship MERN Stack Web Development Bootcamp—a two-month intensive programme held every weekend.
- Over 60 students applied, though only 30 were selected due to resource constraints.
- Participants are now learning:
- Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js
- Backend: Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB
- Team collaboration & project-building skills
The bootcamp includes assignments, strict attendance, and a final project showcase, where participants will present their work and compete for prizes. This model ensures students are not just passive learners but active builders of technology.
📘 Peer-to-Peer Support: Helping Juniors Succeed
Beyond large-scale workshops, TechNexus has also become a support system for Year-1 students through peer study sessions in programming and mathematics. These informal but impactful gatherings allow juniors to clarify concepts, prepare for exams, and build academic confidence, all while fostering mentorship and community spirit.

🌍 Expanding Impact On and Off Campus
So far, more than 150 students have actively engaged in TechNexus events. The club is not slowing down. Upcoming plans include:
- Workshops on Introduction to Databases and Django REST Bootcamp
- Outreach programmes in local schools, where students will run tech awareness sessions to inspire the next generation of learners
By combining technical training with community outreach, TechNexus is building a sustainable ecosystem of knowledge-sharing and innovation.
💡 The Bigger Picture: Zero Unemployment Mission
TechNexus represents more than just a student club—it embodies AIU’s broader mission of nurturing skilled, compassionate, and employable graduates. Under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Basheer Riskhan, the initiative ensures that students don’t just graduate with degrees, but with the confidence, skills, and networks to excel in today’s competitive job market.
Through its innovative model of workshops, bootcamps, peer support, and outreach, TechNexus is not only equipping students with practical skills but also empowering them to shape the future of technology and society.
✨ TechNexus is more than a club. It’s a movement—building skills, bridging futures, and working towards a world of Zero Unemployment.
