The UGREAT 2025 Pitch Competition Finale successfully concluded at Albukhary International University (AIU) as part of the university’s orientation programme for newly registered local students.
The event served as a dynamic platform for students to develop confidence, creativity, and communication skills, while presenting their innovative ideas to a panel of judges. It reflected AIU’s dedication to nurturing holistic development, leadership, and entrepreneurial thinking among its students from the very beginning of their academic journey.
🎓 Inspiring Beginnings and Official Opening
The finale was graced by Prof. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Mohd Saleh Bin Jaafar, Vice Chancellor and President of AIU, who delivered an uplifting speech to welcome the new students and encourage them to embrace creativity and curiosity as they begin their journey at AIU.
The event was officially officiated by Madam Alia Hanim Zainal Abidin, Director of the Centre for Foundation and General Studies (CFGS), who emphasized the importance of innovation and teamwork in university life.

🧠 Showcasing Creativity and Critical Thinking
The judging panel featured Madam Nurul Hamidah Hamdi as Head Judge, along with Mr. Abu Dzarr Muhammad Rus and Madam Irdayu Ibrahim, both Heads of Programme in Foundation Studies. The panel commended the students for their creative presentations and the quality of their ideas, noting the impressive level of teamwork, analytical thinking, and communication skills displayed throughout the competition.
The finale provided a glimpse into the innovative potential of AIU’s foundation students as they proposed meaningful, real-world solutions within a limited timeframe — demonstrating a clear alignment with AIU’s mission to inspire minds and transform lives.

🏆 Winners and Recognition
At the conclusion of the competition, Nur Alia Ameerah Binti Abu Tolib, a Foundation in Arts student, emerged as Champion, while Muhammad Fariezqandar Akmal Bin Mohd Farid, from Foundation in Computing, was named First Runner-up.
The UGREAT 2025 Pitch Competition was a collaborative initiative between the Centre for Foundation and General Studies (CFGS), Language Centre (LC), and the Centre for Student Affairs and Alumni (CSAA), led by Mr. Mohd Fadli Zakaria, Lecturer at CFGS.
This initiative reflects AIU’s continuous commitment to empowering students with creative problem-solving abilities, confidence, and leadership qualities essential for academic and personal success.
