The School of Education and Human Sciences (SEHS) at Albukhary International University (AIU) celebrated a significant milestone with the successful organisation of its first-ever SEHS Family Day, held on 1 November 2025 at the scenic lakeside basketball court. The event brought together students, lecturers, and staff for a vibrant day of recreation, wellness, and togetherness — marking the beginning of a cherished new tradition for the school.
A Spirit of Unity and Celebration
The programme was officiated by Professor Dr. Abdul Malek Abdul Karim, Dean of SEHS, who expressed heartfelt appreciation to all attendees. In his remarks, he highlighted the importance of building meaningful connections outside the classroom and emphasized that the Family Day aims to strengthen unity, belonging, and a positive academic culture within SEHS.
Energizing Activities to Promote Wellness and Teamwork
The event kicked off with a lively Zumba session, setting an energetic tone for the day. Participants from across SEHS — including students from the Bachelor of Media and Communication (BMC), Bachelor of English Education (BEE), and Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECE) programmes — joined in with enthusiasm.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in a variety of traditional and team-based games designed to foster teamwork, friendly competition, and cultural appreciation. The games not only brought joy and laughter but also strengthened interpersonal bonds among students and academic staff.
Winners of the activities were awarded special hampers in recognition of their spirit and effort, adding an element of excitement and reward to the festivities.

In true family spirit, SEHS lecturers contributed delicious potluck dishes, creating a warm, communal atmosphere where everyone came together to enjoy good food and good company. The shared meal further strengthened camaraderie and provided a platform for informal conversations and community connection.
